Fans of The Last of Us were left disappointed as we didn’t get any new footage of the upcoming game at PlayStation Experience 2017. However, the developers revealed some key element about the game during a developer panel as Game Director Neil Druckmann revealed that over half of the game has been completed.
During the event, he said, that no character, including the main ones from the first installment is safe from death in the upcoming sequel where stakes will be much higher. In addition to this, he revealed that unlike first game where main theme was love, the upcoming sequel’s main theme will be hate. As for the story, the two characters introduced in the Paris Game Week trailer, Yara and Lev will be 16 and 13 years old who were part of some sort of religious part before going out from it.
If you have followed the news related to the development of the game, then you already know that for a long time, reports suggested that the game will be set in Seattle and we finally got the confirmation that previous reports were true. Following this confirmation, the director concluded by saying that over half of the game has been completed. Moreover, since Naughty Dog is completely focused on the development of The Last of Us Part II, we might get the sequel at our hand at the start of 2019. If that’s the case, then it’s expected that we will learn more about the upcoming game during E3 2018 where the director teased that we might get our first look at the gameplay.
