Political television programs remain to be the most popular trend at the moment as different networks are currently working on bringing shows that focuses on politics. According to latest reports, George Clooney is currently working on a political show along with write Matt Charman who received an Oscar nomination for his works on the Cold War drama Bridge of Spies.
The latest news comes via Deadline which reported that Netflix has won the rights to develop the project. According to the report, the duo will bring eight-part limited series titled Watergate which will detail different individuals’ role in the 1970 scandal.
As the events remain to be one of the most intriguing topics of American history, it will be interesting to see how the new series tackles the events. As eight different episodes of the series will focus on different personnel, it’s inevitable that one or more episodes will focus on President Nixon. Apart from this, it’s unclear which political figures the show will feature.
This latest development comes shortly after Netflix announced that its highly popular show, House of Cards will feature a reduced number of episodes following incidents involving Kevin Spacey. While popular actor like George Clooney will surely attract a lot of views, it’s unclear whether the actor will be featuring in the upcoming series.
At the moment, there’s no official release date. However, as the production moves forward, more news related to the development of the upcoming series is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
