For a long time, manufacturers have shipped their smartphones with 16:9 aspect ratio. However, when LG introduced LG G6 earlier, it changed the approach thanks to its 18:9 display ratio. Samsung later followed the design feature with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and if recent reports are to be believed, then the trend will continue in next year when the company announces Galaxy S9.
The latest news comes via GalaxyClub’s sources which claimed that upcoming Galaxy S9 is expected to keep the 18.5:9 ratio which means that we will see similar design pattern of Galaxy S8. Apart from this, the report claimed that the upcoming smartphone will feature even thinner bezel which will ultimately give the S9 a smaller footprint than that of S8.
This latest news comes after in recent months rumors suggested that Samsung is working on reducing the bezels of its flagship smartphone. It’s already confirmed that Galaxy S9 will feature Exynos 9810 chipset and possibly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Apart from these, not a lot of details are known so far about the smartphone.
For a long time now, rumors claimed that Samsung is preparing for an early release of Galaxy S9 to compete with Apple. However, nothing has been confirmed by Samsung so far and we will have to wait few more weeks to find out more about the upcoming flagship device. As we are nearly over, it’s likely that we will learn more about the upcoming device in coming weeks in case Samsung releases the smartphone earlier than its traditional timeline.
