If you are using any modern device which has GPS built into it, you already know that these devices can come pretty handy in situations where you need some sort of navigation in a new place. While such features are pretty handy at times, you might not want to share your location with others at all the time. However, a recent bug in the platform saw some Twitter users revealing their locations accidentally.
Following the incident, Twitter’s support account admitted that the app accidentally shared some users’ locations who had the location service enabled. Due to the bug, a number of users revealed their locations on a city level location.
Interestingly, following the announcement, some users turned to Twitter to reveal that although the microblogging platform released users’ location unintentionally, some of the city-level locations were completely wrong as Twitter showed their locations based on recent search history. Since then, Twitter claimed that the microblogging platform has removed any location if it wasn’t enabled.
