This year’s Arrow-verse crossover is set to be a massive hit if released footages and trailer of the crossover events are anything to go by. Recently, Stephen Amell stated that this year’s crossover episodes are like Super Bowl.
The actor’s comment came during his recent interview with ComicBook.com. He said, “I think that if we’re going to shoot it like a big four-hour movie, we have to board it like a big four-hour movie. We have to prioritize the schedules of the people that are going to be working the most, if that’s me, if that’s Melissa [Benoist], if that’s Caity Lotz, if that’s Grant [Gustin]. It’s going to change year over year based off of story. The payoff is that I’ve seen one cut of one episode, and it’s just… It’s like a four-hour escape. There are some through-line storylines like Oliver and Felicity’s relationship, and Barry and Iris’s relationship, and what’s going on with Sara, what’s going on with Victor and Franz. It really is, for the first time, it’s an event. It’s not a crossover anymore. Call it the crossover if you want. But it’s kind of like calling the Super Bowl just a football game. Yeah, sure, they play football, but there’s so much other stuff that goes on with it. It’s an event.”
If you have seen trailer of this year’s crossover episodes, then you already know that this year’s event doesn’t feel like just a CW tradition that CW has established over last couple of years. In previous years, the crossover episodes felt like just different episodes where characters appeared to share a common story. However, this year, the storyline feels like it is written to be a four hour movie like experience.
Titled “Crisis On Earth-X”, the four episodes event is set to feature Arrow-verse’s heroes against their evil doubles from the Earth-X where Nazis have won World War II. The four episodes long event set to start on November 27 at 8 p.m. then come to an end next night.
