Although Warner Bros. had pretty high hopes with DCEU, up until now, only Wonder Woman has managed to live up to everyone’s expectations. After latest release, Justice League was heavy criticized by everyone, recently rumors started surfacing that Warner Bros. and DC have fired Shazam! director David F. Sandberg. After rumors went out of control, the director turned to Reddit to reveal that he hasn’t been sacked. Later, he turned to Twitter to give details regarding the whole situation.
This latest comment comes after a post in Reddit stated that the director has been fired. It read, “David F. Sandberg has been fired by WB. David S. [sic] Sandberg reportedly wanted to make a dark and gritty, sexy and violent Shazam! movie with a hard R rating, but after reading the script, they tore it apart and kicked him out of their office.”
While Sandberg turned to Twitter to reveal the news with humorous tone, the latest rumor isn’t far-fetched given Justice League’s performance. Although Warner Bros. hoped that the movie will break box office records upon its release, the movie didn’t live up to anyone’s expectations. Despite that, Shazam! Is ready to start filming earlier next year after the studio landed Zachary Levi to play the lead in the upcoming movie.
While Shazam! will not be released until 2019, recent photos from sets and glimpses at the characters have got everyone excited about the upcoming movie. With the production set to begin shortly, more details related to the movie is expected to arrive in the coming months. You can check out David F. Sandberg’s tweet below.
