If you are active on social media, then you might already know that Instagram contains several cross posting features at the moment as it allows user to post an image on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr at the same time. As for both Facebook and Instagram, they have the stories feature in common and despite Facebook owning both of the social network, you would require to post stories separately to both social network. In order to add stories on both platform, Facebook is rolling out a new feature that will allow Instagram stories to be cross-posted on Facebook as well as Facebook stories.
Instagram introduced the story feature back in last year as it continued its attempt to attract more users. Shortly afterwards, both Facebook and WhatsApp brought the feature in different names. Although many users criticized the move, it also resulted in users spending more time on the network as it replaced Snapchat to an extent.
As users of Instagram use the story feature of the platform more often than not, cross-platform posting will see an increment in the stories over Facebook as well. As a result, the feature might be popular after all as users still prefer Instagram to post stories.
