BlackBerry ruled the sphere of smartphone for a long period of time and when the first iPhone came out, the company refused to change the product design. As consumers’ taste for smartphones changed, both Nokia and BlackBerry became irrelevant despite dominating the market for such a long period. Although both companies have a long way to go to establish themselves as leaders of smartphone markets, they are releasing smartphones on a regular basis. And now, Evan Blass has turned to Twitter to reveal the BlackBerry Motion.
If the Motion is released, then it will follow several BlackBerry Android phones released over last couple of years. Back in 2015, the company first launched Priv, its first Android phone. However, due to poor sales, the company partnered with TCL to bring re-badged Aclatel devices known as “BlackBerry DTEK”. As for newly leaked phone, it goes back to the DTEK style phone without a physical keyboard present in the KEYone introduced earlier this year. The latest phone was previously called as Krypton but if Evan Blass to be believed, then the upcoming phone will be called ‘Motion’.
Although the leaked image is just a render, it seems to be official nevertheless. The right edge of the phone has volume controller, power button and BlackBerry shortcut key. However, the enormous bezel at the bottom of the phone doesn’t fit the current trend of bezel less display for smartphones.
As of now, it is unknown if the smartphone will be released anytime soon. However, there is a lot of smartphone focused events are coming in next couple of months where BlackBerry might just reveal the phone itself.
