Nathan Fillion Is Returning for a New Television Show

Nathan Fillion is one of the biggest stars in television thanks to his roles in both Castle and Firefly. Despite that, the actor hasn’t appeared in small screen on a regular basis since ABC’s Castle ended few years earlier. While we have seen Fillion appearing in Modern Family and Brooklyn Nine Nine, those appearances were far less than the amount fans expected. If you are one of these fans, then you will be glad to know that the actor is set to return to ABC as a lead for a brand new television show, The Rookie.

If the premise of the show is anything to go by, then it is set to become a major television series upon its release. In The Rookie, Fillion will portray a rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department who is older than typical rookie after the character leaves his comfortable life behind to pursue the dream of becoming a police officer. However, given that other rookies in his class are twenty years younger, Fillion’s character will have to use all of his skills to keep himself in the academy.

Apart from playing the lead role, Fillion will also serve as an executive producer beside his former Castle executive producer Alexi Hawley. However, apart from this, there is not a lot of details regarding the show at the moment. Given that ABC has given straight to series order for the show, it won’t be surprising if we see the show premiering in the coming months. As the production of the series begins, we are likely to receive more news related to the show in the coming weeks.
