The wait is finally over as we finally got another trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi as the studio released its second trailer during Monday Night Football. And latest statement released by LucasFilm confirmed that the second trailer of the movie was watched more than 120 million times to make it the fourth most watched trailer of all time.
The latest statement by LucasFilm said, “Earlier this week, the full trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrived on Monday Night Football and online. In just 24 hours, the trailer was viewed more than 120.1 million times worldwide, making it one of the biggest trailer debuts of all time. It had 29.1 million more views than the film’s first teaser released at Star Wars Celebration last April, and there are 242K (and counting) Twitter posts surrounding Star Wars: The Last Jedi this week.”
As mentioned earlier, the number of views means the trailer is now the fourth most watched trailer of all time as it fell behind Thor: Ragnarok (136 million), The Fate of the Furious (139 million) and IT (197 million). Desptie the release of the latest trailer, it is unknown if the studio will release another trailer before its release later this year.
Although the reactions for the trailer have largely been positive, we will have to wait few more weeks to find out if the movie manages to live up to the high expectations that has been created by everyone related to the movie.
