Jared Leto’s portrayal of The Joker was heavily criticized following the release of Suicide Squad. Few weeks later of the release, Leto revealed that the actor wasn’t particularly happy about the final results. Although at the time reports suggested that the actor might not return in any movie set in DCEU, later it was confirmed that we will see the actor returning in Harley Quinn Vs. the Joker. However, as of now, it’s unclear whether we will see The Joker in the Suicide Squad Sequel.
Although there are a number of movies set to get release in the coming months, it’s unclear how the studio is planning on going forward as most of the movies as of now do not have solid release date. However, Warner Bros. is currently working to release Suicide Squad earlier than expected. Interestingly, Jared Leto has recently revealed that he has no idea if he will return to reprise the role of The Joker in the upcoming movie. He said, “A lot of moving parts, we’ll see what happens. I think Gavin is incredibly talented, he seems to be the perfect director for Suicide Squad 2. I think he’s a really gifted filmmaker and I really love his work.”
Although the actor’s portrayal of Joker was controversial among fans, he will get his chance to amend the mistakes in future as we are set to get several movies with Joker at the center of them. Rumors recently suggested that Suicide Squad 2 will be released in 2019.
