When Apple introduced Apple Pencil few years back, it received mixed experiences from consumers. However, in recent years, the product has become more and more useful largely thanks to Apple’s initiative to bring more functionality of the Pencil. Thanks to latest added support for handwriting and drawing in iOS 11, rumors started that Apple might be working on bringing support for iPhone in the coming years. And now, a new report revealed that we will get Apple Pencil support for iPhone at 2019.
The latest date of support comes thanks to a latest report by The Investor in South Korea which revealed that its sources confirmed that the Cupertino giant is currently considering adding support for a ‘digital pen’ for iPhone in the coming years. As the upcoming pencil will feature different technology, you won’t be able to use same pencil in both iPad and iPhone.
The latest reports are surprising given that Apple for a long time was against the idea of stylus with the company’s devices. However, over the years, smartphones’ screen sizes have become bigger and rendered the need of adding stylus for better user experience. For instance, Samsung for a long time dominated the phablet market with its offering of Galaxy Note series.
These latest reports come thanks to two patents discovered earlier this year that suggested that Apple Pencil might get a major update to add support for iPhone in the coming years. However, as of now, it seems that we won’t be getting the Pencil support with the iPhone next year as we will have to wait one more year with the latest rumored date. As a result, we will have to wait to find out if Apple brings stylus to the iPhone in the coming years.
