Thanks to Google’s policy regarding Android, the mobile operating system has become the most popular OS among manufacturers. However, different manufacturers have their own way of implementing Android as more often than not third party smartphones come packed with different applications. For a long time, only way users could get updates for these core applications was the through the operating system updates. More recently, manufacturers have realized that using Google Play would be much easier method to distribute applications as it would allow easier updates. And now, OnePlus has decided to follow same route as the company will now distribute individual applications through Google Play.
The announcement comes via an official post in the company’s forum. The post said, “It’s a small step forward towards the maturation of OxygenOS as a ROM, but we’re excited for the increased capabilities this will give our users.” The latest method of updating applications will be applied to users of OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3.
