MSI Launches Compact Gaming Desktop with Coffee Lake Processors

Intel finally launched its 8th generation processors and we will need to wait just few days before the processors are available from retailers. MSI on the other hand, is updating its small form-factor Vortex G25 gaming desktop with a new model to feature the latest Intel Core i7-8700 processor.

The latest model will feature recently announced Intel Z370 motherboard along with Intel’s 6-core 12-threads processor. While the processor won’t be the highest end processor, according to MSI, it will provide up to 40 percent performance increase in different tasks.

In case you are wondering, the MSI Vortex G25 measures 13”x11”x1.7” and weighs just 5.5 pounds. While the computer packs decent power inside its laptop sized case, it features two fans along with eight heat pipes to keep the system from overheating. While the desktop will feature latest processor, it will come with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 graphics cards.

As for other specifications, you can choose up to 64GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM. Apart from this, the model have following features:

2.5 inch drive bay for a hard drive or SSD

2 NVMe M.2 SSD slots

1 Thunderbolt 3 ort

1 USB 3.1 Type-C port

3 USB 3.0 ports

2 HDMI 2.0 ports

Headphone out and mic in jacks

192 kHz/24-bit audio

However, we will have to wait few more days to know the prices of the upcoming desktop as MSI didn’t reveal pricing for the computer yet. But given that the processors aren’t super expensive, you won’t be required to pay more than the existing models.
