Batman V Superman received heavy criticisms due the movie’s portrayal of two of the most iconic DC superheroes. At that time, Jessie Eisenberg’s performance was also criticized and for months, rumors circulated whether or not we will see Lex Luthor returning in the upcoming Justice League. While the character was set to return, Zack Snyder left the project earlier last year and Joss Whedon took over the movie’s production. Interestingly, the test screening of the movie has confirmed that both Lex Luthor and Iris West won’t be appearing in the upcoming movie.
The latest news comes thanks to a report by Batman-News.com which revealed that both Kiersey Clemons and Jessie Eisenberg were cut from the test screenings. While Clemons’ absence isn’t surprising since she recently talked about her dissatisfaction with the character in the upcoming movie. However, Luthor’s absence from the movie is somewhat surprising since the character went to Arkham Aslyum following the events of Justice League and the cut scene at the end of the movie hinted at the inclusion of the character in the upcoming movie.
Regardless of the characters’ absences, first reactions of the test screenings have been positive so far. While the test screening was watched by fans, it’s highly unlikely that they would give negative response to the movie. However, fans claimed that the movie is definitely better than Batman Vs Superman. Regardless of that, we will have to wait few more weeks to find out if the movie manages to live up to its high expectations.
If the latest reports are true, then Justice League has gone through major chances under Joss Whedon. Justice league is set to Hit the Theaters on November 17th, 2017.
