Google Starts to Offer Trade-Ins

For a while now, rumors surfaced that Google was planning on introducing trade-in programs and now, the company has started to offer trade-in programs to give users another way to purchase their handsets from the company.

The latest offering by Google works similarly to offers from other companies’. In order to purchase a new handset from the company using the latest trade-in offer, you will need to start your purchase and at that point you will be given an option to trade-in your current device.

However, as of now, Google’s trade-in offer is pretty selective. Although smartphones from popular manufacturers such as Apple, LG and Samsung are represented, Google currently included only selected models eligible for trade-in program. For instance, the trade-in offer as of now only supports Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S8, and S8+ from Samsung.

Despite the latest offering, you might want to stay away from the trade-in opportunity if you want the best possible value for your smartphone. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ trade-in will give you only $290 in return which is pretty low for a flagship smartphone.

However, if you want to purchase a smartphone by selling your old handset as soon as possible, then the latest offering should suit you. After securing your trade in quote, you will be able to continue to your transaction and will be sent a mail-in package for the smartphone. After the package is received with good condition, Google will ship your device.
