Although Google Pay has become relatively popular in the recent years, the search engine giant is still struggling to meet everyone’s needs in the Indian Subcontinent. As a result, rumors started surfacing that the search engine giant is working to bring alternatives to Google Pay to customers living in India. Earlier on yesterday, the company has introduced Tez to Indian market, an alternative to existing payment services. According to the company, the latest application will make it much easier and safer to use the application for payment related activities.
With the latest payment app, Google has made it easier to keep track of your transactions as the money will never leave the bank account and there is no separate account or intermediaries associated with the payment service.
At the launch, all of the major banks in India will support the latest payment system in addition to Axis, HDFC Bank, ICICI, and State Bank of India. In short, if any financial institution uses India’s Unified Payment Interface, it will support payment via Tez.
However, the latest payment service cannot be used to purchase anything online as it is meant to send money directly to a friend or family members. In order to protect your wallet, Google uses Tez Shield fraud and hacking detection. You can download Tez from official App store for both Android and iOS. Rumors has suggested that Google might launch the application in the other countries in the coming months.
