Dell Announces 18-Core CPU Alienware Desktop

When AMD released its Ryzen series of processor, it surpassed all of our expectations and Intel released its processors to keep its dominance in the market. Few weeks earlier, Intel announced its 18-core i9 CPU to tackle the needs of enthusiasts. And now, Dell has announced that the company will add the Core i9-7980XE as a configuration option for the Dell’s high-end Alienware Area 51 Desktops. However, you will need to shell out extreme amount of cash to get the highest end option.

In case you didn’t know, the Core i9-7980XE contains a total of 18 cores and 36 threads with turbo boost up to 4.4 GHz. While most of the modern games do not utilize all the resources provided by the extra cores, Dell is hoping that it will appeal to gamers or enthusiasts who want to push their desktop to get the best out of their desktops. In order to achieve this goal, Dell is offering option to add up to 64GB of RAM along with dual or triple graphics card option from both Nvidia and AMD.

While the Alienware PCs are set to offer the highest end performance when packed with Core i9-7980XE, it will come with a mouthwatering $3,999 price tag. However, if you want to get your hands on the Alienware Area 51 PC as soon as you can, you will need to wait several days as Dell has revealed that the i9-7980 option will be available starting from 27th of September. If you don’t want to spend such a high amount of money but would want to have a high end computer, then you can choose from different options currently offered at Dell’s official store.
