We finally got to see what Destiny 2 had to offer after months of speculation when the game was released earlier last week. However, a number of gamers have pointed out that one item from the game resembles the Neo-Nazi flag which understandably became part of several discussions. However, the developers have publicly acknowledged and apologized on Tuesday for the incident.
Bungie released its official statement via Twitter which said, “It’s come to our attention that a gauntlet [an armor item] in Destiny 2 shares elements with a hate symbol. We are removing it. Our deepest apologies. We renounce [sic] hate in all forms.”
The game’s item’s similarity to the flag is followed by a large number of neo-Nazi campaigns to sneak white nationalist iconography into pop culture. As a result, Bungie decided to take swift action for the matter. Regardless of being a mistake or not, the incident got much higher attention since the game’s release.
