Apple Announces iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

After months of speculation, Apple has finally unveiled the lid on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus during an event it the company’s new Steve Jobs theater at Appel Park. As there have bene numerous leaks in the last couple of weeks thanks to enthusiasts, the event didn’t pack many surprises apart from confirming a massive number of features in the upcoming smartphones from the tech giant. Amid massive expectations from fans around the world, Apple introduced new iPhones that incorporate newer processors as well as new camera technology. Apart from that, the upcoming iPhone will also support wireless charging. However you will need to wait few more days to get your hands on the latest device as they will be available for pre-order on 15th of September.

This year’s iPhone went through major design changes as the smartphones now feature glass on the front as well as on the back and the latest smartphones will be available in traditional silver, space grey and gold colors. Apart from this, the latest iPhones feature custom aluminum alloy along with internal steel and copper structures. Additionally this year’s iPhone is also sealed for water and dust resistance. Moreover, thanks to new technology, stereo speakers in the iPhones are now 25 percent louder than the iPhone 7.

Inside, the smartphone features an all new A11 bionic chip with six core 64-bit: two high-performance cores, and four high-efficiency cores. In addition to that, the latest smartphone features all new GPU designed by Apple and the GPU will provide 30 percent more powered than the existing A10 chip. The A11 will have a better image processor which means the smartphone will come with low-light autofocus and new hardware noise reduction thus improving overall quality of images.

As for camera, the standard iPhone 8 features a 12MP camera which will provide more than 83 percent more light while being more power efficient. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 Plus has dual 12MP sensors. Both of the models will come with optical image stabilization. Thanks to new video encoder, the cameras found in the upcoming iPhones will now shoot 1080p 240fps slow-mo and 4K 60fps without any issue at all.

As augmented reality has become increasingly popular in the recent years, Apple has mentioned that the latest iPhones are the first iPhones created for augmented reality with calibrated cameras for virtual reality. Additionally, thanks to the  LTE Advanced, BT 5, and a glass back, the iPhone will support wireless charging.

The iPhone 8 64GB will cost you $699 with the iPhone 8 Plus coming with a hefty $799 price tag. Pre-orders for all of the smartphones will begin on 15th September and will arrive on 22 September. As a result, you will need to wait several more days before getting your hands on the latest iPhones. However, you can get a taste of what the iOS 11 will feel like as it will be available on 22 September.
