HBO is having tough time over last couple of days as hackers went away with more than 1.5 terabytes of data and recently leaked unaired episodes of Game of Thrones. Following the leak, the hackers demanded the studio to pay up which the company understandably refused and now, the company’s Twitter account was also hacked by a group called OurMine.
The latest problem didn’t persist that long compared to the ongoing issues for the company as the studio regained control of the Twitter account roughly an hour following the hack.
While surprising, this is not the first time a company’s Twitter or other social networking accounts have been hacked. Despite the inconvenience, the hack isn’t particularly threatening compared to the latest security breach of the studio. However, when added up all these issues, it seems that the studio is having pretty rough times lately.
This latest hack comes after few days earlier, the hackers demanded millions of dollars’ worth of Bitcoin but the studio tried to negotiate with $250,000. We will have to wait to see how the studio comes out of the rough time as Hollywood studios are regularly falling victims of attacks in recent times.
