It seems that Warner Bros. finally got it right as Wonder Woman opened up to positive reviews after previous movies set in the universe got thrashed by critics. Most importantly, the movie managed to break the record for highest Thursday night from a female director with $11 million. While the movie is set to become a box office success, the director also has another television series lined up to continue her success story.
Recently, The Hollywood Reporter has mentioned that the upcoming show even has a name and is called Riprore. The show is set in Los Angeles where the story ultimately leads to a homicide investigation. As of now, not a lot of details are known except the story is written by Sam Sheridan.
If the television series indeed happens, it will be aired on Shudder which is an AMC network streaming service targeted towards fans of horror and thriller genre. As most of the streaming services are moving towards producing original contents, Shudder is planning on doing exactly the same and Riprore might be the perfect fit for such goals.
However, Patty Jenkins is likely to be busy with the sequel of Wonder Woman and might be part of the project as executive producer only. Given that the project is still in its early days of development, there is no confirmation regarding the release date of the series. If the project gets green light, we might hear something back from the network or people associated with the project pretty soon.
