Sony Starts Rolling Out Android Nougat Update for Xperia XA Ultra

Although it’s been more than a year since Google released Android Nougat, smartphone manufacturers around the world are still upgrading different models’ operating system. Six months earlier, Sony announced the eligible devices for the update and despite that, the Xperia XA Ultra didn’t receive the update until now. Recently, the company has started rolling out Android 7.0 update for the smartphone which brings several new feature for the smartphone.

With the latest update, Sony Xperia XA Ultra now comes with expanded notifications, split screen as well as improved Doze more. The latest update also includes the May security patches for the operating system released by Google earlier.

Earlier last year, Sony released a video to inform users about the upgrades they are getting with the latest updates. For example, thanks to the latest Nougat update, Xperia XA Ultra users can access the service directly from the home screen.

Despite the latest updates, manufacturers’ update process remains a disappointing area for users of Android smartphones. Nougat was released by Google over a year earlier and the companies are still pushing out updates. With Android O coming up few weeks later, we will have to see how long companies take to roll out the updates for eligible devices.
