Amazon’s in-app purchase option had a significant drawback as children used the option for unauthorized purchases which amounted up to nearly $70 million. When Federal Trade Commission asked the company to provide refund to the affected users, Amazon was against the decision but later in April dropped the appeal as the Federal Trade Commission allowed Amazon to continue to sell in-app downloadable content in the future.
And now, the company has officially started to provide refunds for the purchases. Recently, Federal Trade Commission said that users who are eligible for a refund from the company should have received an email containing the necessary information. If you haven’t, then you can go to Amazon’s in-app refund page or Amazon account to see if you are eligible for a refund.
If you are looking for a refund, you should know that the process will be completed entirely on internet and you won’t need to speak to anyone. However, you will need to request a refund in case you are eligible by May 28, 2018.
