Microsoft to Repackage Games to Avoid Confusions

After several months of speculations, Microsoft finally unveiled its much discussed Project Scorpio which is now officially known as Xbox One X. While the console won’t start shipping until later this year, the company at the time will have three consoles available in form of Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox One S. In order to avoid confusions among gamers, the company has decided to introduce several icons in the games’ packages to inform users if the game will be able to take full advantage of the solid configurations.

The latest news comes via a post on the official Xbox Blog as the company revealed that the packaging of the game will contain three different icons to let everyone know about the changes. The most important icon of the packaging will be the ‘Xbox One X Enhanced’ icon which will confirm that the game’s developers worked to include extra features which Xbox One X users will benefit from. The other two icons will be support for 4K ultra HD resolution and HDR10. If you followed the E3, you might already know that Xbox One X will support both of the features out of the box which means if a game is Xbox One X enhanced, it will automatically support all other features.

Ahead of the official release of the console, several titles are set to debut and it will be interesting to see how many developers decide to introduce major updates. Microsoft at the Xbox’s E3 Press Conference said that the console will support Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 along with several third party games.

We will have to wait a bit more to find out if the games will really produce consistent performance with the improved console. If the games provide solid performances with the latest console, the $499 price tag for the Xbox One X will be justified.
