Konami Talks about Castlevania and Bomberman on Switch

Castlevania and Bomberman are two of the biggest franchises in the video game history. The developers behind the game Konami had tough time for a while but they continue to bring fans some of the best games from time to time. Recently, it was confirmed that Castlevania, will get an animated series on Netflix and after the news broke, fans were wondering if the developers are planning on bringing the game for Nintendo Swtich. The company’s European Brand Manager Richard Jones recently talked about the development.

He said, “All I can say is that there is lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch, other than Bomberman, a game which we are well aware of its heritage and how loved it and Castlevania is. So much so that Castlevania is getting is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series. So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on going.”

“As far as reaction goes, we were absolutely balled over by how well received Super Bomberman R was, back when it was first announced. It was far more than what we were expected. And then when it released the response was still overwhelmingly positive, so it’s definitely a game we do want to continue to support for the time being, but it is too soon to think about a sequelSure, I’d like a new Castlevania”

Whatever happens, given Switch’s surprising level of success, more developers are likely to bring more old titles back to the new console as publishers continue to introduce modern gamers to older generation games.
