Although Facebook has been copying different features of Snapchat, the application is still popular among teenagers. As Facebook is actively trying to bring more users to its apps, the company is reportedly working on an unreleased application called Talk.
The latest report from The Information which pointed out that code of the unreleased application has some built in parental control which gives users complete control of the contacts. One comment in the codes is particularly interesting as it said, “Kids love using the creative tools in “Talk” to play games and share fun masks with family and friends.”
Despite its decline in popularity, Snapchat still boasts a whopping 158 million daily users who use different features to contact with their friends rather than different Facebook owned platforms. The unreleased application is likely to be restricted to users who are 13 years or older which the company thinks will make it particularly popular among teenagers rather than older users. Whether such application will get release in the near future remains to be seen but the development of such app means the company will continue to provide features similar to Snapchat’s.
