Atari for a long period of time led the gaming industry with its hardware but the company eventually lost its touch as the famed game developers haven’t released a console in more than two decades. However, the company is set to make a comeback in the hardware market as the CEO of the company, Fred Chesnais confirmed during his interview with GamesBeat at E3 2017 that the company will get back to the hardware business with a new console in the coming months.
While he didn’t confirm details of the company’s upcoming product, he mentioned that the device will be based on PC technology. He said that the company has been working on the design and more details of the product will be revealed at a later date.
This news comes after the company teased a new device called Ataribox in a YouTube video. The brief video provided a glimpse of what to expect with the upcoming console as the video show a device similar to the design of classic Atari 2600.
