Amazon Updates Its iOS Alexa App

Earlier this year, Amazon Echo started supporting voice calls and texts. At the time, the iOS app for the speaker left support for blocking calls from contacts over Alexa. However, the company recently updated its iOS application to add support for blocking calls and text messages.

The changelog of the update reads:

– Bug fixes and performance enhancements

– The ability to block contacts from calling and messaging you. Scroll down on the contact list and tap the “Block Contacts” button

However, the Android App is yet to receive the update although the app got its most recent update on June 9. With the option for blocking calls and text now available for iOS application, Android app should receive the option in the coming days.

If you are using the Android app, then you still block unwanted calls by calling the Amazon customer service which can be pretty time consuming experience. As a result, we can only hope for Amazon to add support for blocking calls and texts with the next app Update.
