Over last several months, Facebook has introduced several features similar to Snapchat which has resulted in reduced number of users for the platform. Understandably, the company is struggling to maintain its popularity among advertisers which was reflected in its earnings from the first quarter. In order to improve the revenue coming from advertising, the company has decided to introduce discounts for advertisers.
The latest discounts and coupon codes vary from agency to agency and the incentives and discounts said to be running until mid-June. As both Facebook and Google came under heavy pressure lately due to brand safety related issues, this might be the perfect opportunity for Snapchat to jump into the advertising market. Although the company had poor results from the first quarter, the latest attempt to revive its advertising platform might lead to better results in the second quarter.
However, this isn’t the first time the company has offered incentives. However, experts of the industry have mentioned that the latest move is much more aggressive to meet the company’s target this quarter.
