If you were thinking that Madonna will welcome her planned biopic by Universal Pictures, then think again as the pop singer slammed the biopic saying that only she can tell the story completely.
This comes after Universal won an auction to produce the screenplay of the pop icon about her early days in New York during 1980s. However, she turned to Instagram to say, “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen.”
“Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool looking for instant gratification without doing the work.”
The Blonde Ambition is written by Elyse Hollander and was voted as the most-liked screenplay in Hollywood last year. The screenplay follows the story of Madonna’s early days as she was trying to release her debut album.
Whether she likes it or not, Michael De Luca is set to produce the upcoming movie. However, the popstar can make producer’s life difficult by blocking her music from the movie. As of now though, Universal is yet to respond to her statements.
