It looks like Disney has several big movies already lined up for release and both Lion King and Frozen 2 have joined the list of movies which already have a scheduled released date. According to latest report, Favreau’s remake of The Lion King will now be arriving in theaters on July 19, 2019 with Frozen 2 will get a winter release on November 27, 2019.
This confirmation came via Twitter as Director Jon Favreau mentioned the date with an emoji of lion. If you were wondering what will happen to the scheduled release of Indiana Jones, the studio moved the release of the movie nearly one year to July 20, 2020. On the other hand, Disney’s Twitter account confirmed that highly successful Frozen’s sequel will come later the same year.
It will be interesting to see how The Lion King performs as Disney managed to have major box office success in the recent years with remake of several movies. Given that the movie will be made using the same technology to create The Jungle Book, it won’t technically be a live action remake. Regardless, it’s certainly interesting to see that the studio is bringing one of the movies that defined the studio for so long.
