Twitter easily played one of the most important roles during the latest US Presidential election as Donald Trump used the platform to reach more people. While that served as a positive result for the US President, he from time to time contradicted himself even on the platform. Interestingly, Jack Dorsey recently revealed that the company won’t ban the president from using the microblogging platform as the company intends to treat everyone equally and promote freedom of speech. Now, he went on one step ahead and said that US President Donald Trump’s Tweets keep him accountable.
During an interview he said, “I believe it’s really important to have these conversations out in the open, rather than have them behind closed doors. So if we’re all too suddenly take these platforms away, where does it go? What happens? It goes in the dark. And I just don’t think that’s good for anyone.”
Donald Trump has been known for contradicting himself in the past as he repeatedly failed to live up to his words. Most interestingly, Twitter’s active user base grew significantly last quarter and Trump’s influence on the platform might have played a major role in doing that.
However, given that we are getting direct view into Trump’s mind, Twitter will play more prominent role in the coming days to learn more about him. Whatever happens, US President’s twitter usage is certainly one of the most interesting topic of conversation as the company need to keep the president tweeting in order to keep the company grow even bigger.
