We’ve known for quite a while now that upcoming Logan will be Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine, a role he has played since the first X-men movie debuted back in 2000. However, the actor has suggested that he is opened to another movie that might feature Deadpool alongside him. During a recent interview, the actor said, “When I had the script, I was like, ‘Yes.’ And when I was shooting the movie, yes. As I sit here today, yes. God knows how I’ll feel in three years. But right now, absolutely.”
Over last couple of months, there has been numerous rumors that we might glimpse Deadpool in the upcoming movie. While it remains to be seen if the claim is true or not, several sources have suggested that there might be a possible Wolverine and Deadpool reunion in the coming years. Given Deadpool is scheduled to start shooting in later this year, three years might be a reasonable time to expect Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine if he decides on returning. However, during an interview with the New York Times, the actor revealed that for now, he is done playing Wolverine as he said,
“Let’s be clear, I’m not retiring. There’s been a gnawing turmoil that I hadn’t really nailed it, fully, either story or performance or whatever. Every film I’ve ever done, I’ve had that gnawing doubt. But I have it way less in this one.”
“The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure. (I’m fine with it), unless Daniel Day-Lewis plays him and wins the Oscar, then I might have a little problem.”
However, with Logan getting its much anticipated release next month, it’s still early days to conclude on any potential rumors. Recent reports confirmed that Logan is set in the year 2029 and the movie will introduce a new mutant X-23 who possess powers similar to Wolverine’s. Logan is set for worldwide release on March 3rd.
