Earlier this year, reports surfaced that a film crew in Montana was making a live-action trailer for a new video game set in the Old West. Although at the time, there wasn’t a lot of information to go with, fans became increasingly curious as they wanted to find out more about the production.

At the time, producer Jeff Guillot teased that the game is in fact a sequel to an existing franchise and will be released in September.

For several days, fans speculated that the upcoming game might be related to Red Dead Redemption 2 although Rockstar Games don’t usually go with live action trailers. Later, fans found out that the game in question was in fact was developed by Ubisoft and everyone was quick to point at both Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry although fans started stating that given that Far Cry 5 is rumored to contain Egyptian setting, chances of the production being for the series is extremely high.

While the game is still unknown, Far Cry 5 is most likely to be the game as few years back Ubisoft asked fans if they would like to see a game set in the Old West. As Assassin’s Creed traditionally goes around history, there are little chance of the story being set in the Old West. Whichever game it may be, it means that we’ll need to wait bit longer to find out more as the studio is likely to release more details regarding the game in the coming weeks.
