Despite the declining market, consumer PC market still a major areas for PC makers. As companies are shifting their focuses towards other areas of market, Dell emphasized that PCs still hold an important role in the company and the company won’t be giving up on PC market in the coming years.
The announcement was made by CEO Michael Dell and went on to showcase different products from the company. During his keynote speech, Dell announced the company will offer PC-as-a-service worldwide by the end of the year. This new service will allow customers to acquire a new computer and pay on a monthly basis which will reduce the hardware acquisition and support cost for the company.
This latest move comes as PC market continues to decline over a long period of time. In addition to this, the data center business has been declining as computing services are moving towards the cloud. He also introduced new poweredge servers and all-flash EMC storage products.
In order to provide better virtualization, the company also introduced VMware to balance storage, networking operations and balance servers.
