According to recent reports, after AOL’s successful acquisition of Yahoo, the combined company will get a new name with a recent Tweet from AOL CEO Tim Armstrong suggested that the new name will be Oath.
The deal was announced back in July but different data breaches have seen the acquisition process delayed until now. According to Business Insider, if the deal goes through, it will give Verizon Yahoo’s search, mail, content and adtech businesses away. Talking about the deal an AOL spokesperson said to Business Insider, “In the summer of 2017, you can bet we will be launching one of the most disruptive brand companies in digital.”
