Apart from the cliffhanger at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans are still wondering about the backstory of both Rey and Finn as it’s expected that their stories will be unveiled during the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, stars and people associated with the movie didn’t provide any definite answer to the questions. However, recently Rian Johnson confirmed that Like Skywalker is the Last Jedi mentioned in the title of the movie which increased the possibility that Rey won’t be able to finish her training with the master.
Recently, Rian Johnson was asked if we will learn about Rey’s parents in the movie and he said that we will learn little bit about the mystery. While he didn’t confirm if the full backstory will be revealed, he said that her parents will be “addressed”. Talking to Good Morning America, he said,
“It’s something that is absolutely going to be addressed…The other part of it is there are lots of surprises in this movie and lots of twists and turns, and I really want people to experience those when they see the movie for the first time. How we address that and how you feel about it and what happens with that is one of them.”
This comes after Daisy Ridley talked about the upcoming movie recently with MTV as she said, “The one thing I have seen, cause I did some ADR last week, was a little clip of something I didn’t know was going to happen in it and I was like, ‘Oh wow, okay.’ I think quite a few questions people have are answered in this.”
While these aren’t significant details to go by, you can stay assured that even if the movie actually answers your questions, it will rise even more questions after you leave the theater. However, all of the mysteries are likely to be resolved by the Star Wars 9. As of now, we can’t do anything except waiting for the movie to come out and see what’s in store for us in the next installment in the franchise.
