Over the years, the Walking dead has managed to keep the audiences enticed with storytelling as the show remains as one of the most talked about series of television. While fans were little bit disappointed with the end of latest season, still the show managed to break another record for overall ratings.
Although the current season of the series didn’t perform up to the expectation, it doesn’t mean that the show lost its audiences. Despite the disappointment, the show managed to be top ranked television show in the 2016-2017 season. Additionally, the show was the highest rated show in the 19-49 age group for the fifth years in a row which means the show has become a solid return for AMC for nearly half a decade.
Moreover, according to Deadline, the current season finale experienced a decent increase in ratings. This will come as a relief if the showrunner was worried about the future performance of the show as it means more people will potentially tune in next season. The season finale was viewed by more than 11 million people and the Live+3 tally went up to 15.5 million which should give you a better idea regarding the attraction of the show.
As the show will get even bigger boost when the Live+7 numbers arrive, it’s difficult to see when the zombie apocalypse will come to an end. Although season 7 of the show has come to an end, we’ll have to wait and see how the showrunners decide to go with the season eight which is going to be another blockbuster for small screen. Stay tuned for news related to the show as we wait for upcoming season.
