Although two-factor authentication has been a popular method among social media sites over the years, Twitter for a long period of time, didn’t offer the service. However, the microblogging platform recently added two factor authentication and you might not be aware of it since the company didn’t seem to go crazy over it. Such move is understandable given that it would be similar to the news of inventing fire after all these years.
If you would like to enable two factor authentication for Twitter, you can easily following steps. However, note that you will need to have either Google Authenticator or Authy installed. Afterwards, visit the website of Twitter and follow these steps.
Go to the setting and Privacy option by clicking on your profile picture at the upper right corner.
In the account section, you should notice a section with Security heading along with a box laballed Verify Login Requests
After clicking on the start button, enter the password and you will need to enter your mobile phone number if you haven’t entered already.
Click send code and you will be able to have your phone number verified.
Afterwards, click on “setup a code generator app” button and scan the QR code that was generated using your phone.
