Recently reports claimed that Toshiba is likely to miss out on its quarterly deadline for October-December 2016 due to delayed queries by the firm’s auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers Aarata LLC, may have queries regarding its earnings results for the year through March 2016.
As the recent delay back in March saw the company’s share fall by 12% on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, another delay can potentially put the firm’s shares at risk of being delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
In an attempt to cut down the loss of $9 billion, the company has put its NAND flash memory unit for sale and technology leaders like Google, Amazon and Apple has increased their interests in purchasing the division. As the memory chips are used in a diverse array of consumer electronics, chances are consumer electronics maker such as Apple might be interested in purchasing the division and increase profitability.
Toshiba found itself in trouble after recently it was revealed that the company was involved in falsifying earning reports as they overstated profits from 2008 to 2016.
