According to latest reports in Korea, Hyundai is working to develop solid State electric vehicles. The latest report out in The Korea Herald notes that the company has established a pilot scale production center.
According to the report, a source stated, “Hyundai is developing solid-state batteries through its Namyang R&D Center’s battery precedence development team and it has secured a certain level of technology.”
In the past, the company was rumored to provide funds to a number of different projects around the world focused towards solid state battery which makes these rumors pretty convincing. With the electric and eco-friendly vehicles are catching up the competition, such move can help the automaker in the long run. However, we will have to wait and see if such rumors hold grounds.
