Nokia’s most recent smartphones have managed to gain decent amount of attention from everyone and the company is planning on catching up the missed opportunities by offering faster updates for software. Although some of the major smartphones from other companies are yet to receive the Android 7.1.1 update, Nokia has decided ship out updates for their Nokia 6 model before global shipments later this quarter.
If you are currently using the smartphone, you will need to have at least 620 MB of free storage in your smartphone as the download file is around 370MB. The company announced during its launch that the upcoming smartphones from the company will receive the updates as soon as they can.
In the official changelog, the company included the upcoming changes. Some of the major changes include enhanced power saving and background task management. The update also adds support for 4G/3G dual-SIM, dual-standby. In addition to that, the Nokia USB driver will receive an update for compatibility. Although several other major companies are known to delay updates for security patches, Nokia will also ship out the April security patch with the latest Android 7.1.1 update.
With more smartphones rumored to launch in the coming months, it will be worthwhile to see how Nokia competes with other smartphone makers.
