Over last couple of years, companies have shifted their focus from making big clunky PCs to smaller ones with similar configuration in an attempt to increase declining sales figures. Asus for instance over a long period of time have managed to bring several mini computers which are good enough for light tasks or gaming given that your requirements aren’t too high for a PC of such size. However, back in January, Asus decided to introduce a compact PC which is about same size of a modern day console but packs enough power for gaming and heavy workload. And from today, the VivoPC X is available for purchase from selected retailers.
The recently released VivoPC X is just 11” X 10.2” X 3” and weigh just 4.4 pounds. However, don’t let the size fool you as the desktop packs quad-core Intel Kaby Lake processor, Nvidia graphics as well as support for up to 16GB of RAM. Basically, with the desktop, you can play any modern games and can do some pretty decent video editing task.
The latest compact gaming PC by Asus features Core i5-7300HQ processor, Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card, 8GB or RAM and 1 TB of HDD. Apart from this, the system also features two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, four USB 3.1 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports. In case you want to add a SSD to boost the performance even further, you can do so by using the M.2 slot that comes with the computer. According to Asus, the newly released VivoPC X supports display up to 3840 X 2160 Pixels. If you are interested in purchasing the product, you can buy it from Newegg or Amazon for just $799. If you want to get the PC with VR bundle, then you will need to spare nearly $1400.
