ACM’s Album of the Year is one of the most prestigious awards and this year, the award went to Miranda Lambert for her album, The Weight of These Wings. The singer accepted the wards alongside her producers Frank Liddell, Eric Masse and Glenn Worf.
During her speech, she noted that recent turmoil in her personal life has been the inspiration for most of the contents. She said, “I just want to say thank you for letting me use my heartbreak and share it with me.”
Glenn Worf prasied Lambert’s efforts to make the album a success as he added, “The best music is made from the heart, and Miranda brought her heart to this record.”
Frank Liddell asked young artists to tell stories from real life as they are more interesting. He said, “Guys—any young songwriters out there—tell the truth. It’s more interesting.”
Miranda Lambert competed with artists like Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban and Maren Morris to win her 24th ACM award.
