Kodi is one of the most popular open source media player currently available for multiple platforms. In recent months, the service added several features that has made it interesting and it looks like the company is planning on including another major feature to its already existing ones.
Recently the company confirmed that the upcoming release of the open source media player for Android TV will support Leanback suggestions and voice search in addition to other traditional methods of search. Inclusion of this feature means that the player will feel the home screen of your Android TV with suggestions from your watch history and other libraries such as YouTube and Google Play movies.
With the inclusion of voice search, you will be able to ask anything the assistant to pull out from existing library.
While these features are coming with the upcoming Kodi 18 release, the company recently updated its website to include the nightly build. In order for the newly included features though, you will need to allow remote control via HTTP. As the official website has included the beta of the app, it’s likely that you’ll be able to use the full version pretty soon.
