Earlier this month, Google released the upcoming Android 8.0 developer preview and some of the users are already using the operating system. If preview builds are anything to go by, then the new operating system offers pretty interesting features and it seems that Huawei is planning on including the OS shortly after the release as they have already started testing it.
Although the preview build was first available for Google Pixel and Nexus users, Huawei has decided to go on and chose its powerful Mate 9 to test the latest Android OS which means users of the device will be the first to get their hands on the Operating system when it becomes available for smartphone makers.
Although the company recently announced Huawei P10 and P10 plus, they chose not to go for the latest model which indicates that the company will try to get enough feedback from existing users. Most importantly, as many Mate 9 users have mentioned that the smartphone running Android O doesn’t have many features necessary for everyday use, it means that Huawei might be trying to ship Android update later to P10 or P10 plus right after the update hits the market.
Google is expected to release the operating system later this year with its highly anticipated Pixel 2 line to showcase the power of new operating system. If the company follows the traditional timeline for the release, then other consumers are likely to get their hand of the operating system shortly after Google releases it. However, Google is yet to announce the official launching date for the Operating system and the company is expected to announce the events in the coming weeks.
