Back in last summer, Google released an anti-spam features to Nexus, Pixel and Android One smartphones that gave users ability to identify spam and report the numbers to reduce number of spam calls. Now, Google Voice is receiving similar update that will help you if you are annoyed by the number of spam calls you receive from time to time.
According to Google, the update from last summer reduced the number of spam calls by more than 20 percent. Moreover, thanks to reporting feature, more than 40 percent calls were correctly identified as spam during this time.
Although the company released an update earlier this year, it didn’t bring similar functionalities. With the company is making progress towards making the Hangout more business oriented, it’s likely that we will see Voice to replace it for its better calling features.
Google Voice over last seven years of service has managed to keep itself as a groundbreaking app from the tech giant. For example, using the app, you can text from the same number from any device, including your computer; voicemail transcription, and call recording. However, the spam was proving a difficult problem that came with the application and now with the latest update coming in your way, hopefully you will have better user experiences with reduced voice calls.
