Google’s Pixel smartphone received a lot of praise from consumers after the company released its premium Android smartphone. In the coming months, the company is planning on releasing several other Pixels and earlier reports suggested that the tech giant might include foldable OLED screen with the upcoming devices. In order to ensure that the company won’t face any supply issues with the supply issues of the screen, the company is reportedly offering to invest around $880 million in LG’s display division to increase production of the OLED screens.
If the deal goes through, in that case we might see Google replacing original AMOLED screens included in Pixel and Pixel XL last year which nevertheless became increasingly popular among Android smartphone owners. However, as earlier reports confirmed that Apple has ordered 70 million OLED displays from LG in order to use them in upcoming iPhone 8, it seems that Google is planning on producing similar flagship devices. In case of more requirement, Google is planning on investing even more so that there’s no issue related to supply of the devices.
While details regarding the upcoming Pixels are pretty rare, you can expect to get OLED screen given that both companies agree on the matter.
