Some users on Facebook in last couple of days noticed that there is a small rocket ship popping up in the network’s news feed. As always, the social media giant is testing out another version of news feed and you might be one of the users randomly chosen by the company to test the new News Feed.
In a recent report, TechCrunch has noted that some users have noticed a rocket icon that allows users to browse through a news feed that contains contents from sources users aren’t currently following but are similar to the items they have liked or followed. This is similar to the suggestions Facebook previously had but this time around, you might get a higher number of suggestions as the platform also taking your friends’ activities on the network to show you potential interests.
The experiment is pretty old as recently Android beta users started to see same feature with a square icon. However, given that the company has introduced it to larger audiences, chances are, the feature might come in your way much faster than you thin. A spokesperson recently said to Mashable, “We are testing a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them. We’ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore new content they haven’t connected with yet.”
